Julia Grapsa, MD, PhD, is currently a consultant cardiologist at Guys and St Thomas NHS Trust (I guess the academic contract will come later).She is also the editor in chief for JACC-Case Reports, under American College of Cardiology.

Previously, she was the head of the echocardiography department at Royal London Hospital and a consultant cardiologist at Barts Health NHS Trust. She was also an associate professor at University College London. Her areas of research include pulmonary hypertension and the study of right heart remodeling with multimodality imaging as well as valvular heart disease in structural interventions.

She has worked in several hospitals including Hammersmith, Charing Cross, St Marys, Royal Brompton & Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. She was also associate professor in Cardiology for Cleveland clinic Lerner School of Medicine. She was a recipient of ESC research grant and was the first author in the national guidelines for echocardiography in pulmonary hypertension.

Grapsa has served as chair of the young community for multimodality imaging for the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging and as a member of the European Society of Cardiology education committee, leading the ESC clinical case gallery. She is a part of the JACC family of journals, serving as an associate editor for JACC and an editorial consultant for JACC: Cardiovascular Imaging. She is also a fellow of American Society of Echocardiography, American Heart Association, European Society of Cardiology and American College of Cardiology
